The Long Beach Accelerator (LBA), founded in 2019, is a nascent tech accelerator in the state’s seventh-largest city. It is a collaboration between the city of Long Beach, Sunstone Management, and CSULB. The Long Beach Accelerator provides entrepreneurs with mentorship and coaching, a full curriculum to take startups to the next level, access to operating capital, space to locate in Long Beach, introductions to our network of investors and corporate partners, and access to City and University resources.

We are currently seeking a Program and Operations Coordinator. As a startup ourselves, about to launch our first cohort, this is a critical role and the second position hired in the company.  The ideal candidate is interested in startups and venture capital is detail-oriented and personable and knows the technology well, someone who likes execution but can contribute to the strategy.  This person can stay on task and energized in an ambiguous environment but loves to create just the right amount of systems and order. This person will need a lot of energy to do whatever it takes to help create a remote-first accelerator program.  In other words, we are looking for a startup builder.

The Program and Operations Associate will provide regular, day to day, as well as critical and timely assistance in all activities of the organization. This position will work closely with key staff, our startup clients, mentors, and other stakeholders to ensure success in the development of the organization, particularly focused on the smooth functioning of the program and special event delivery. Work will mainly be performed weekdays 9-5. This is currently a work from home position but will require some in-office, some out-of-office, and evening and weekend work from time to time as the Accelerator shifts to a hybrid in-person/remote model (estimated summer 2021.)

The successful candidate will be expected to remain current with events and trends in the startup ecosystem, and activities and internal projects of LBA, as well as comply with policies and procedures of the LBA.

We offer competitive compensation, health benefits, PTO, and downtown Long Beach offices.
